Spect AI, Inc. (dba Nonlinear) (“Nonlinear,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a no-code AI workflow platform that allows Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) teams to automate document-related processes. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information when you use our services:
- Account Information: Name, email address, company, and login credentials.
- Usage Information: Interactions with our platform (e.g., workflows created, features used, error logs).
- Document Data: Files you upload (e.g., specs, spreadsheets, submittals) to build or use workflows.
- Technical Data: Device information, IP address, browser type, operating system, and cookies.
- Support Communications: Any information you provide when contacting us for support or feedback.
- Authentication Data: We use a secure third-party authentication provider (Clerk) to manage user sign-in and account creation. Nonlinear does not store your passwords or other authentication secrets; these are securely managed by Clerk in accordance with their security and compliance policies.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve our services.
- Develop new features and AI capabilities.
- Personalize your experience and improve usability.
- Communicate with you regarding updates, billing, and technical support.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Where required by law, we process personal information on the basis of one or more of the following:
- your consent,
- performance of a contract,
- compliance with a legal obligation, or
- our legitimate interest in operating and improving our services.
For account management and billing information, Nonlinear acts as a data controller. For Customer Data uploaded to our platform, Nonlinear acts as a data processor/service provider on behalf of the customer.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data only with:
- Service Providers that help us operate our business (e.g., authentication on Clerk, file storage on Amazon Web Services S3, cloud hosting on Render, analytics, support, and email communication tools).
These subprocessors act solely on our behalf, are bound by strict confidentiality and data protection obligations, and are not permitted to use your data for any other purpose. - Integration Partners you authorize, if you connect Nonlinear to third-party applications.
- Legal and Compliance purposes when required by law, regulation, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
International Transfers
We are based in the United States. If you access our services from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure adequate safeguards, including the use of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) where applicable.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain data for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide services. Upon contract termination or your written request, we will delete or anonymize your data within a commercially reasonable period unless retention is required by law.
Security
We maintain industry-standard administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect data, including:
- Encryption in transit and at rest
- Access controls and authentication
- Monitoring and vulnerability management
- Least-privilege principles for employee access
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no system is 100% secure.
Use of Aggregated and Anonymized Data
We may analyze usage patterns and content in aggregate or de-identified form to:
- improve and optimize our services, and
- develop new AI models or capabilities.
Nonlinear does not use identifiable Customer Data to train AI models that are shared across customers or made publicly available. Any model improvements or feature development are based only on aggregated or de-identified data, ensuring that information from one customer cannot be viewed, inferred, or reconstructed by another. If Nonlinear ever offers customer-specific model training or fine-tuning services, such activities will occur under a separate written agreement with explicit consent from the customer.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA) to:
- Access a copy of your personal data.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Restrict or object to certain processing activities.
- Request data portability.

Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
